The Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition has been operating since 1983. The department offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees. Studies are conducted in the fields of plant nutrition, fertilizers and fertilization, soil economics, organic agriculture, soilless fertilization, soil chemistry, soil survey and mapping, land use activities, soil physics, soil and water conservation, and soil biology. These include determining the nutritional status of various crop plants, determining nutrient deficiencies and fertilization through plant and soil analyses, protecting the environment and agriculture, identifying and mapping different soil groups in the Western Mediterranean Region, classifying soils using satellite data, and producing yield estimates. The department's soil and plant analysis laboratories, along with cartography, remote sensing, and satellite division evaluation laboratories, are equipped with up-to-date equipment.
